Snow Chains
Roof Carrier Systems has over 25 years experience in fitting snow chains to vehicles.
One of the main problem areas in fitting snow chains is the increasing number of vehicles where there is insufficient clearance to fit chains. Drivers should consult the vehicle owners manual or ask their vehicle dealer about snow chain compatibility for their tyre size. There may be liability and safety issues if snow chains are fitted to tyre and wheel combinations that are not approved by the vehicle manufacturer.
High performance, high speed rated tyres and cold winter alpine temperatures, snow and icy roads are NOT compatible. The safest and most correct alternative is to have a second set of wheels fitted with winter tyres that are identified with the ‘snow-flake on the mountain peak’ symbol.
RUD Snow Chains
RUD first manufactured snow chains in 1906 and since then has grown to a company that employs over 1500 people over 120 countries. The further development of RUD ‘snow how’ has lead to a wide variety of innovative solutions which lead to higher traction and drive quality, and to more safety for both people and vehicles.
Konig Snow Chains
Konig have offered a range of snow chains for cars, SUVs, 4WDs and small commercial vehicles since 1966. Systems like the K-Summit and the Magic self-tensioning system make Konig snow chains a great fit.
Thule Snow Chains
Thule acquired Konig in 2004. While the Konig brand continues, Thule have released some products under their own name. Thule offer chains for cars, SUVs and 4WDs.
